How Did We Start? 

Dr Smash was originally written by a panel beater named John Banfield over 25 years ago. John at the time had just started his own panel beating business where he noticed the shortfall in the way things were being run in the market. Being the resourceful man he is John designed a system to fill this gap. Overtime the beginnings of a truly magnificent software began to take shape that could run a panel beater from the moment the shop doors opened to the moment they closed each day. The functionality even then made it a must have for everyone in the industry, and soon demand was coming in from all over South Africa and even internationally as news spread of this”new” entrant into the market.

A short while after entering the market we began to be approached by workshops around the country to build a system around them. John Banfield sat with the some of the biggest workshops available to him and did just that. Dr Smash has subsequently designed programs for tow-in companies, assessors (Loss Adjusters) and even has custom builds for bus companies and insurers under its belt.

Where Are We Now?

To this day Dr Smash is one of the leading software packages in the industry, catering for not only the basic running of your shop but rather every facet that needs any sort of admin or controlling mechanism. We strive to make the use of our program as user-friendly as possible by adapting our features and interface to the changing environments and new legislation. This allows our users to become more profitable by giving them more time to do the things that matter rather than simply capturing the day to day runnings.

Where Are We Going?

In the begin Dr Smash could have been categorized as a reporting program. A program able to tell you about every little section of your business through reports, but left you to make the necessary changes to improve these figures. Dr Smash has evolved into a full management system that still gives you all those reports, but also allows you to put measures in place through the program to ensure those figures and targets are improved upon month on month.

Dr Smash has developed multiple features, options, styles etc that can be activated in the program allowing us to design our package around you the customer. We feel that this ability to customise our packages around you is the future.

We at Dr Smash are working towards making our packages into Complete Organisational Management Software designed around what you as a customer need and want.
